Nigeria’s House of Representatives has officially waded into the latest controversy surrounding the 2016 budget by expressing its willingness to re-examine the document.
The Speaker of the House, Hon. Yakubu Dogara made this disclosure after the members had an executive session on Wednesday.
He stated that the lower chamber is ready “to re-examine the 2016 budget in view of the prevailing circumstances in Nigeria.”

The Senate had on Tuesday, expressed readiness to honour President Muhammadu Buhari’s wish to have the Lagos-Calabar rail project, which was allegedly left out in the original budget.
The Executive arm of government have been asked to submit a supplementary appropriation bill to that effect.
