‘I Warned Jonathan About The Recession Two Years Ago’ – Obasanjo


Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has revealed that he warned past president, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan of the consequences of the ‘reckless’ spending of his government.
Obasanjo, who made this known yesterday, during a lecture organized by the Youth Fellowship of Owu Baptist Church, Abeokuta to mark Nigeria’s Independence Day anniversary, further said he first saw signs of the country walking into a recession hole two years ago when Jonathan started spending the nation’s resources, he immediately called the latter’s attention to it, but he was ignored.
He also made mention of slow paced development in the country due to the situation of things saying “things are not what they should be.”
The high level of unemployment was also tagged as a ‘time bomb’ by the ex-president.
