Patrick Van Anholt has committed his future to Sunderland after signing a new deal till 2020.
The 25-year-old’s original deal – signed when he joined the club in a £2 million move from Chelsea in 2014 – ran until 2018.
But after overcoming a difficult start to last season, the Dutch international’s vastly-improved form has been rewarded with a further two years.Van Aanholt has scored five goals in 69 appearances for the Black Cats, including four in last season’s Premier League.
