Christian Eriksen is set to be rewarded with his impressive performances this season with a new contract.
The midfielder is expected to agree a four-and-a-half-year deal that could see him take home as much as £80,000 a week. That would make Eriksen one of White Hart Lane’s top earners.Tottenham’s manager last month came out to state that the club would do well to keep ‘the best core of squad’ together and the club looks set to follow suit with their coach after Pochettino this week committed his future to the club with a five-year contract.Erik Lamela, Mousa Dembele and Hugo Lloris are believed to be at the top of the tree at Tottenham, with all three currently earning in excess of £70,000 a week.
In other transfer news, Manchester United asked Jose Mourinho to wait a year before taking over as manager, so Louis van Gaal could see out his contract. But Mourinho believes he is closer than at any stage to being confirmed as the next United boss while the club could beat Rangers to the signing of goalkeeper Kacper Chorazka after inviting the 17-year-old, who plays for Wisla Krakow, to train with them. Conte also plans to bring winger Juan Cuadrado, 27, back from a loan spell at Juventus but will sell midfielder Nemanja Matic, 27, to the Italian champions.The club also wants to sign Napoli and Argentina forward Gonzalo Higuain, 28, in a £42m deal this summer.Leicester City want to strengthen their Premier League-winning squad by signing Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Thorgan Hazard and are also looking at Wanyama of Southampton as they prepare to boost their squad for the Champions league.
