La Liga was founded in 1929 when it had only just 10 teams registered in the game  but interestingly, the games has evolved with great players playing in the league, actually the greatest players like Messi, Ronaldo, Antoine Griezmann, Neymar and many others.

In my opinion though, La Liga has the best of players compared to other leagues. The season is on and any of this guys would top that list and of course Suarez as one of the contenders who has a chance to be one of the greatest playing for Barcelona but before that happens below are the highest goal scorers in the history of La Liga.


Lionel Andrés “Leo” Messi is a professional footballer born 24th June. The Argentine is regarded as the best player in the world of all time with a number of trophies and awards with four consecutive FIFA Ballons d’Or all because his exceptional style of play with his goal scoring abilities in La Liga playing for Barcelona scoring a record of 316 goals in 353 games played, making highest goal scorer ever in La Liga.


Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro is an outstanding player, actually the word wouldn’t do any justice to justify the player. After leading Portugal to winning gold at the Euros and several titles won for Barcelona he is also regarded as one of the most marketable athletes in sport, in 2016 Forbes named Ronaldo the world’s best paid athlete. In June 2016, ESPN ranked him the world’s most famous athlete. He is the only player in the history of football to score 50 or more goals in a season on six consecutive occasions. Ronaldo is the second highest goal scorer with 261 goals in 240 games played.


Telmo Zarraonandía Montoya (20 January 1921 – 23 February 2006), known as Zarra, and he will always be remembered for his football during his time at Athletic Bilbao where he scored a lot of goals for the club. Zarra scored a total of 251 league goals, a Spanish record that lasted nearly six decades. His 81 goals in the Copa del Rey remain a record today. He later died of a heart attack on 24 February 2006 at the age of 85.


Hugo Sánchez Márquez (born 11 July 1958) is a retired professional footballer who played for Mexico and regarded greatest player for Mexico and the 6th highest goal scorer in Real Madrid’s history with exceptional strikes and volleys which became his trademark. Hugo Sánchez has scored 234 goals in 378 appearances.


Raúl González Blanco born 27 June 1977), popularly known as Raúl who played his football for Real Madrid and considered as one of the most important players in the history of Real Madrid but also as the greatest Spanish player of all time. He spent 16 years for Playing for Real Madrid where he won a number of titles and awards. He scored 228 goals in record 550 appearances.
