One of the basics of a modern day footballer is speed. There has always been a debate on who the fastest footballer in the world is with Theo Walcott, Antonio Valencia, Cristiano Ronaldo, etc all assumed to be the fastest over the years.
The good thing about the argument is the fact that, it is most times laid to rest when the gaming ratings comes out, most noteably PES and FIFA. Therefore without further ado, according to the recently released FIFA17, here are the top ten fastest players in the world;
10. Ryo Miyachi – St Pauli, Pace (94);
He is a former Arsenal youngstar who was tipped for greater things while at the Emirates but found game time hard to come by and was loaned to several clubs. He currently does his business for St Pauli in the German second division.
9. Jefferson Cuero – Monarcas Morelia, Pace (94);
He is a Columbian, but plays in the Mexican league with Morelia. He is so fast and is deemed as one of the fastest players ever in the Mexican league. He is still pushing for an invitation to the Columbian National team.
8. Hector Villalba – Club Tijuana, Pace (94);
The Argentine winger stands at 5’8 and is known as a speed demon. He is 22 years old and currently plays for Mexican club, Tijuana.
7. Gareth Bale – Real Madrid, Pace (94);
A famous name on the list, the Real Madrid star is known for his speed and intelligence on the ball which has taken him to the level he is.
6. Ernest Asante – FC Nordsjaelland, Pace (95);
He is a Ghanian winger who plays for Nordsjaelland in the Dannish league. He recently signed for the club this summer and has a lightning speed in him.
5. Jurgen Damm – Tigres UANL, Pace (95);
You rarely see a tall player who is very fast but Jurgen at 6’2 possesses a lightning speed. He is a Mexican international and already has some caps for his National side.
4. Hector Bellerin – Arsenal, Pace (95);
The Arsenal star has carved a niche for himself to be one of the best right backs in the country and his known for his speed, beating Theo Walcott to become the fastest man in the premier league.
3. Jonathan Biabiany – Inter Milan, Pace (95);
The 28 years old is one who was highly rated as a youg star but never lived up to the billing. One of his characteristics was his lightning speed but he always lacked that end product to go with it.
2. Mathis Bolly – Greuther Furth, Pace (96);
He is an Ivorian international whose mum is from Norway where he basically established himself as a footballer. He currently plays for Greuther in the German second division.
1. Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, Pace (96);
He is currently the African footballer of the year and rightly so. The Gabonese has established himself since joining Dortmund and has gone on to do big things. He frequently challenges Usain Bolt to a race and is known for his lightning speed.
