With news of the presidency not being sent details of the 2016 budget going viral, President Muhammadu Buhari, has weighed in on the issue and said he will not be signing the budget in a hurry.
On Thursday via a statement by his special adviser on media And publicity, Femi Adeshina,it was revealed that the president intends to critically vet the document before assenting to it.
President Buhari, while meeting with John Kerry, the United States Secretary of State in Washington DC, said he needs to review the appropriation bill to make certain its contents tallied with the authentic budget proposal presented to the National Assembly.
Some bureaucrats removed what we put in the proposal and replaced it with what they wanted. I have to look at the bill that has been passed by the National Assembly, ministry by ministry, to be sure that what has been brought back for me to sign is in line with our original submission.
Recall yesterday, the National assembly revealed that its not abnormal for the details of the bill to be sent a week later to the presidency, as opposed to what Nigerians think.
