PREMIER LEAGUE: Weekend Games Preview

It will definately be another weekend of premier league action as Leicester city will be looking to extend their lead ontop of the table on Sunday afternoon before Tottenham play Stoke city on Monday while Manchester united have the easiest task of putting Astonvilla to the squad and the Blues entertain Manchester city at the Bridge. Here are our game-by-game preview of the weekend’s action.

Norwich City vs Sunderland

This has to be the game of the weekend as these two teams lye deep in the relegation waters.Norwich city are four points ahead of Sunderland but Sunderland have a game in hand. This has got to be a relegation six-pointer as whoever wins stand a good stead to remain in the premier league.Sunderland have not been impressive off-recent while Norwich have found some wins especially vital ones away at Westbrom and at home against relegation battlers Newcastle. This will be a very tough game as both sides know the importance of a win.I just dont see Norwich loosing this one.Expect Jermaine Defoe to cause all sort of problems for them though.

Everton vs Southampton

This is another game very close to call. The Everton fans are angry at Roberto Martinez not because they are not playing well but because they are conceeding goals at will.Southampton on the other hand has found form of-recent,winning two of their last three games especially an impressive 3-1 victory over Newcastle last weekend.Everton’s home form hasn’t been pleasing this season while Southampton too do not have a good away record, loosing their last away game to Leicester city.I feel both teams will score but it will be a tight affair anybody could win.

Manchester United vs Aston Villa

This game looks very straight forward except Louis Van Gaal decides to bottle it.Manchester United have performed better against teams at the top half of the table and although they have struggled against teams at the bottom half,i expect this to be a routine one for the club.Asides Leicester city, they have the best home record in the league and should be buoyed by the 2-1 away win over Westham.Aston villa have been real shambles this season and i expect their relegation to be confirmed this weekend.

Newcastle United vs Swansea city

Fact is, Newcastle have no other option but to win this game because this looks very winnable for them.Swansea city had a good result over Chelsea last weekend and would be buoyed by that result coming into this game.Rafael Bennitez must get a win here to boost his teams chances of staying in the premier league. It will be a very tough game for the Magpies. It is definately in their hands.A draw for them would still be a bad result.Winning is the only option if they are to have hope of staying in the premier league.

Westbrom vs Watford

I just feel this will be a boring game as both sides have nothing to loose.Go into the field, enjoy yourselves, put in a show for the fans to enjoy and whichever side plays better, gets the win. Both sides are strong defensively and rely on the counter.Expect Deeney and Ighalo to cause some trouble for the away side while Berahino and Rondon to lead the line for the home team.

Chelsea vs Manchester City

As much as Chelsea has nothing to loose, this is just one game they need to win for their fans after such a dismal season.Manchester city on the other hand just seems to be doing things right, right now, winning about four games in a row including an impressive win over PSG in the Champions league in midweek. There are games in midweek and i expect Pellegrini to shuffle his squad a lil bit in order to keep them fresh for whoever they meet next in the Champions league but then, they face a battle to end in the top four so he’ll probably take the game seriously.Chelsea were horrible against Swansea so it remains to be seen which side would show up.Mancity right now are grinding out important wins since De Bruyne came back from injury and if Pellegrini puts out a strong starting XI, i just dont see Chelsea winning this game.

Bournemoth vs Liverpool

I think Bournemoth has impressed followers of the premier league this season, they were having a good run until they lost 4-0 at home to Mancity and some games but bounced back last weekend with a 2-1 win over Aston villa.Liverpool on the otherhand can be absolutely very good like they showed last night against Dortmund but their biggest problem is consistency. If they can bring their A game to this one, they’ll win easily.Expect Bournemoth to frustrate them throughout the game.I just feel any of these teams can win this one.

Leicester city vs Westham

Leicester city are always finding ways to grind out victories,WestHam on the other hand, always find ways to frustrate big teams especially away from home, having failed to loose to Arsenal,Mancity,Manunited away from home and now they go to Leicester to try and frustrate their title ambitions.I just think it will be futile.I expect Leicester city to grind out another 1-0 win against this tough WestHam side.I also expect Huth and Morgan to handle the threat of Andy Carroll.

Arsenal vs Crystal palace

On paper,Arsenal should win this and go for it from the blast of the whitsle.Crystal palace have been poor this year, picking up just one win so far in four months.Arsene Wenger will likely continue with Iwobi-Ozil-Sanchez and i expect Olivier Giroud to be recalled to lead the line.Crystal palace will make it tough for the Gunners but its hard to look beyond an Arsenal win in this game.

Stoke City vs Tottenham

This will be a very tough game for both sides who had different misfortunes over the last weekend.Stoke city lost 4-1 away to Liverpool while Tottenham recorded an impressive 3-0 win over Manchester united.Stoke city wouldn’t want to loose twice on the bounce while Tottenham wouldn’t want to give Leicester city a breather in their race for the title.Pochettino is working wonders at Tottenham while Mark Hughes has been able to bring some flair into this once boogey Stoke city side. This will definately be a game any fo the teams can win depending on the team that bring it’s A game on board.
