Premier League And F.A Cup Weekend Round-up

It was another weekend of action in England this weekend as Manchester city got a good win ahead of their Champions league game against Realmadrid, Hazard finally got his form to propel Chelsea to a valuable win over Dortmund and Arsenal fell back to their natural fourth position while Manchester United and Crystal Palace both progress to the F.A Cup finals with valuable 2-1 wins over Everton and Watford respectively.Here is the weekend round up of games in the Premier league

It all kicked off on Saturday afternoon with Manchester city defeating Stoke City 4-0 with goals from Fernando, Aguero and two from Kelechi Iheanacho.City had an eye on the Champions league game in midweek and so fielded a mixed team with Fernando starting in midfield, Kompany rested at the back and Iheanacho chosen to partner Aguero upfront.The first goal came from a corner in the first half which was nodded in at the near post by Fernando,the second goal from a penalty after Iheanacho was felled in the box and Iheanacho put the iceing on the cake with two more goals to round up the score line.Hazard got back to form as he scored twice to help Chelsea to a 4-1 away win over Bournemouth, Pedro and Willian also scored in a game Fabregas set up three assists while Elphick scored the only goal for Bournemouth.Newcastle battled back to a vital 2-2 draw at Anfield.Liverpool were already 2-0 up in the first half with goals from Sturridge and Lallana while Papiss Cisse and Jack Colback got the goals for Newcastle.Westwood scored twice for relegated Aston villa as they lost 4-2 at home to Southampton with Mane, Tadic and Long scoring for Southampton while Arsenal and Sunderland played out a 0-0 draw at the stadium of light.In the final league game of the weekend,Leicester city defeated Swansea City 4-0 at home without top scorer Jamie Vardy as Mahrez, Ulloa and Albrighton all got on the score sheet.

Manchester United are through to the F.A Cup finals after a hard fought 2-1 victory over Everton.United opened the scoring in the first half after good work from Martial down the left to set up Fellaini who placed a first time shot beyond the Everton goalkeeper.Everton probbed in the second half and had an opportunity to score through a penalty after Fosu Mensah was adjourned to have brought down Barkley in the box but Lukaku’s penalty was saved by De Gea.Everton got their goal though, a lucky own goal from Chris Smalling after good work from Deulofeu on the right.Just when it looks like the game was going to extra time, Herrera robbed the ball from Jagielka,and slid a pass to Martial who curled it into the net to the delight of the Manchester United fans at Wembley.

In the other game,Crystal Palace also defeated Watford 2-1 with Bolasie opening the scoring after a corner from the right was nodded back into the area by Delaney and Bolasie nodded in unmarked at the back post.Watford equalized in the second half through captain Troy Deeney after a met a corner and nodded into the net.Wickham scored the winner later in the game,nodding in a cross from the left into the net.Crystal palace then held on despite a barrage of attack from Watford and will face Manchester United next month in the finals at Wembley.
