Middlesbrough, has completed the signing of Arsenal’s England international defender Calum Chambers on a season-long loan.
The 21-year-old former Southampton youngster travelled to the club’s Rockliffe Park training ground on Tuesday to complete the formalities of his move north.
Chambers, an England international with three caps under his belt, brings a wealth of experience, having clocked up 58 Premier League appearances for both Southampton and Arsenal. He has also featured for Arsene Wenger’s squad in the Champions League.
Boro Head Coach Aitor Karanka was delighted to capture the versatile right-back, and says he is another good addition to the squad.
“I’m really pleased,” said Karanka. “It’s a position where we’ve been working towards bringing the right player in.
“We haven’t been in a hurry because Calum was the player we were waiting for, and he’s going to help us a lot.
“I’d like to say thank you to him because we know he had another offer, but he wanted to come here. That’s important and we’re looking forward to working with him.”
