Nigerian Labour Congress Loses Another One Of Its Own


Pascal Bafyau, a former president of the Nigeria n Labour Congress, has died.

Bafyau, who hailed from Adamawa State, according to reports died on Tuesday in Abuja. He was 65.

Abdulwaheed Omar, NLC president had reacted to the sad news. He described the passing of Mr. Bafyau’s death as tragic, especially;

coming when the congress is still mourning the death of one of our officials. It is a very tragic event for us in the labour movement. Since the establishment of the congress, this is the first president to depart. Furthermore, it came at a time when we are still mourning one of the junior officers.”


Tayo Haastrup, the Public Relations Officer of the National Hospital, Abuja, confirmed to newsmen that in the early hours of Wednesday, Mr. Bafyau’s remains were deposited at the hospital morgue.
