Niger Delta Crisis Has Crippled Budget Implementation- Presidency

The Presidency has blamed the slow implementation of the 2016 budget on the current crisis rocking the Niger Delta region.

Presidential Spokesman, Femi Adesina, said this on Sunday during an interview with Channels TV.

“Yes the budget has been passed,” he said. “The intention is to implement that budget as much as possible but then the circumstances are making it difficult because projections are not being met because of what is happening in the Niger Delta and other parts of the economy.

He added that government would still strive to ensure that project are done as much as revenue will permit and allow.

The slow implementation of the budget has further crippled the economy as recent statistics shows that Nigeria is in deep recession.
