NCC To Host Telecom Stakeholders’ Forum At The Sheraton Hotel Lagos

download (9)The Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) will hold a meeting set to host stakeholders in the country’s telecommunications sector tomorrow in Lagos to a forum where deliberations would be made, on the way forward towards the Corporate Governance Code.

NCC added that tomorrow’s forum, scheduled to hold at Sheraton Hotel & Towers, Ikeja, Lagos will serve as an avenue for stakeholders drawn from telecommunications operators, investors, financiers, Value Added Service (VAS) Providers and experts to deliberate on the next level of implementation of the Corporate Governance Code for the Telecoms Industry.

“Deliberations at the forum shall usher in a new Code of Corporate Governance for the Sector. This Consultative Forum is in line with the Commission’s practice of industry-wide consultations before carrying out its regulatory functions,” NCC said.

NCC stated that an invitation has been stretched to industry players Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria (ATCON), Association of Licensed Telecoms Operators of Nigeria (ALTON), National Association of Telecoms Subscribers of Nigeria (NATCOMS), Nigeria Internet Group (NIG), and other stakeholders hoping that they can reach a profitable conclusions concerning deliberations on the next level of implementation of the Corporate Governance Code for the telecoms industry will take place tomorrow.
