The Los Angeles Lakers have made a signing in NBA free agency to address the frontcourt as the team signed Cavaliers centre Timofey Mozgov.
The team has reportedly agreed to terms with veteran center Timofey Mozgov formerly of the reigning NBA champion Cleveland Cavaliers, according to sources. During Mozgov’s short stint with the Cavaliers, the center averaged 7.9 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. Mozgov shot 57.7 percent from the floor and 71.1 from the charity stripe.
The Los Angeles Lakers have also tied down young shooting guard Jordan Clarkson to a new four year deal the club has confirmed.Clarkson had another solid season after an impressive rookie campaign and is more than deserving of a new long-term deal as a restricted free agent. Last season, Clarkson averaged 15.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.4 assists while shooting 43.3 percent from the floor and 34.7 from beyond the arc.
Clarkson, along with Julius Randle, D’Angelo Russell, and Brandon Ingram, is considered to be an important piece to the rebuilding process in Los Angeles. The team has therefore taken a giant step forward to keeping him in a Lakers uniform for the foreseeable future with this new deal.
