National Assembly To Pass Budget Today


Following the suspension of the debate on the 2016 budget, reports have it that the National Assembly will pass the 2016 budget, today.

The Senate adjourned the debate due to the death of Baba Onwana, house member representing Nasarawa/Toto federal constituency in the House of Representatives on Thursday last week.

Senator Danjuma Goje,Chairman, joint Committee on Appropriations, laid the paper which had the budget as number three item on the list, before the formal announcement of the demise of Hon. Onwana by the Senate Leader, Ali Ndume.

Goje, expressed his firm believe in that fact that the budget will go a long way in helping  Nigerians.

Mr. Senate President, Distinguished Colleagues, in accordance with the procedure of the Senate, the Senate do receive the Report of the Committee on Appropriations on the 2016 Appropriation Bill.

The death of Baba Onwana,was however announced, before the debate started.
