Norwich city star Nathan Redmond is undergoing a medical at St Mary’s ahead of completing a move to Southampton.
Redmond scored six times in 24 Premier League appearances for Norwich last season as they were relegated to the Championship in 19th place. But he is one of a number of players expected to leave the club as they prepare for life in the Championship, with Gary O’Neil having already joined Bristol City.
If he passes, he will complete a £10m move to Saints to keep him playing top-flight football next season.
Former Tottenham legend Jurgen Klinsmann had briefly emerged as a candidate for the job as an exit from his unhappy stint at USA national team manager.
However, French manager Claude Puel is now odds-on favourite to take over at St Mary’s.And it appears he will already have one new signing under his belt with Saints expected to move quickly on signing Redmond assuming the medical does not throw up any red flags.
