It is understood there is an agreement in place for City to sign Chile international Bravo from Pep Guardiola’s former club, with the fee in the region of £17m.

However, any potential deal has been complicated by a knee injury to Ter Stegen, who is likely to be out for at least three weeks.

It is believed the process is on hold because of the problem, but a potential deal remains possible before the August 31 transfer deadline.
