Leicester city are set to complete the signing of Nice‘s French midfielder Nampalys Mendy.
The midfielder has arrived for medicals at the King Power stadium.Mendy is set to become Leicester’s replacement for N’Golo Kante – despite the club’s denials – with Kante poised to leave after Euro 2016.
Chelsea believe they lead the chase for his signature but Real Madrid are also now interested in the 25-year-old Frenchman.Mendy helped Nice to a place in the Europa League with his performances last season.But he has just a year left on his contract and was unwilling to sign a new deal as he wants to play in the Premier League.
Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri is also pursuing a move for £12.7million Juventus midfielder Mario Lemina.The midfielder, 22, impressed in his debut campaign in Serie A last season. He joined from Marseille on loan with an option to buy – an option exercised by Juventus in May for £7.2million – but is interested in a move to the Premier League.
