Leicester city obviously still basking on the euphoria of their title win have wasted no time in launching their hime kit.
The Foxes produced one of the greatest sporting achievements of all time when they clinched the top-flight title on Monday and the new design will see them don the gold Premier League patch. But the new Premier League patch, which is worn by the league champions the following campaign, isn’t the only change with Puma opting for a different design next term.
A geometric jacquard pattern is used on the body and sleeves rather than this season’s plain blue style while a gold stripe features on both the shirt and shorts. Schmeichel, who has followed in his father Peter’s footsteps by clinching the title, will don a similar black kit to this season with a minor difference being the gold strip. Shirt sponsors King Power, who are owned by club chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, are also a prominent feature while the new design boats a stylish collar. The new design was modelled by Shinji Okazaki, captain Wes Morgan, Kasper Schmeichel and star striker Jamie Vardy. And the Foxes’ players will be hoping to bring more success to the club next season having secured an historic crown this season.
Leicester City midfielder, Andy King said of the new kit: “Again, PUMA have created a kit which looks fantastic. The piping on the front and back which offers hints of gold looks great and will help us stand out on the pitch. We cannot wait to walk out onto the pitch in the shirt at the start of the 2016-17 Premier League season, as we defend our Premier League title”.
