Police nabs woman who traffics girls to 20 men per day for N500

Another human trafficker , has been nabbed by the operatives of the Anti  Human Trafficking  operatives  of the Cross River State Police Command.
According to reports, 4 young girls aged between 17-18, were successfully rescued from the shackles of prostitution they had lived in for some time now.
The girls, Felicia Nzuworgar, 17; Patience Williams, 18; Angela Benjamin, 17 and Charity Nkwogor all from Okun Local Government Area of  Benue state, recounted how they were forced to live in Calabar  brothel, Vegas Flex,  in order to sleep with more than 20 men daily for money which was eventually collected by their said madame.
The madame identified as  Abigail Aliyu a.ka. “Chair Lady” was said to have taken the girls from their homes in Benue State in  January this year. She had pretended to plan on taking them to Lagos to help them get jobs as sales girl, which will help them fend for themselves and their families but instead, Abigail, took them to Calabar and turned them into sex workers in the  brothel which is located at 26 Bedwell Street, in Calabar.
While speaking with Vanguard, one of the girls, Felicia, recounted her ordeal:

the woman  told me that she has a beer parlour in Lagos and wanted me to work as sales girl there,  but when we got here she gave me  boxer shorts to wear and when I asked her where the drinking parlour is for me to  start working, she said  I should hustle like other girls  by sleeping with men and when I refused she beat me up.

The girls, all had cane marks on them and had the same story of being beaten to submission when they refused.

Another rescued teenager, Patience also recounted her experience saying:

Every day we sleep with over twenty men for N500.00 each and  because we are young, men do line up to have us. At about 12 midnight, ‘Chair Lady’ will  come in and collect the money, because she  counts  the condoms she gives to us, if you do not  give her all the money she will beat you mercilessly.

Abigail and the men she had working for her would at the end of the day search each girl’s room to make sure they had not kept any money for themselves and if they found any, such girl was beaten mercilessly.

Abigail, was also said to have collected the girls phones upon arrival in Calabar and made sure they were never allowed to go outside. When  two of the girls,  Angela and Charity, attempted to run away , they were said to have been beaten to a state of unconsciousnesss.

Angela said:

When I tried  running  away,  she brought a soldier  and a policeman, who are her boyfriends,  and they beat me up and poured tear gas in my eyes. I later fell sick because of that beating for many days.

The girls also revealed how they numbly followed the woman without informing their parents saying once she touched them on the shoulder, they immediately became lost and just followed her.

I was walking in our market in Okun Local Government Area when she greeted me and touched me on the shoulder and that was how I followed her and we entered vehicle to Enugu to the house of a juju man, who prepared a medicine (concoction)  for  us to drink which she said  was to protect us from sickness, but  when we got to Calabar, she said if we run away the medicine the man gave us will make our private part  to rot.

Abigail, who was also interviewed said her arrest as a human trafficker  was due to jealousy. Chair Lady as she was called added that a Mr. John Eluu, brought the girls not Calabar, not her.

According to the Cross River State Police Public Relations Officer,  Abigail will be charged to court as soon as investigations have been concluded. They also warned young girls not to follow anyone anywhere without proof of keeping to their words.
