Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, while appearing on Channels Television ‘s Sunrise Daily Programme televised from Government House, Port Harcourt on Monday, 28th of March, 2016 has charged the Federal Government to stop the frequent transfer of heads of security agencies in the state. He said such transfers create unrest in the state.
Wike lamented that over three commissioners of police have been brought to the State since he assumed office as governor on May 29, 2015. The governor also pointed out that the security in the state has worsened due to incessant unnecessary transfer of security chiefs allegedly orchestrated by a former governor and minister of transportation, Chibuike Amaechi.

He said, “The Federal Government needs to allow security chiefs remain in Rivers State to do their jobs and douse the tensions.’
