As the fuel scarcity lingers in Abuja and ther parts of the country, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has implored consumers of petrol not to engage in panic buying saying the Corporation has enough supply to go round the country.
In a statement yesterday, the NNPC Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, Garba Deen Muhammad, assured that the current petrol shortage would soon be over noting that the problem has been largely resolved in Lagos while the queues in Abuja are reducing by the day.
According to Muhammad, panic buying is what is making motorists converge in a particular filling station, which them creates scarcity, especially in Abuja. He informed that over 200 trucks of petrol was supplied to Abuja and environs yesterday, adding that the trend will continue.
While giving assurances that the corporation is doing everything humanly possible to ensure supply and distribution of products is not disrupted in any way, Muhammad appealed to motorists to be orderly while waiting to buy petrol and called on marketers hoarding products to desist from doing so.
