Realmadrid coach Zinedine Zidane has confirmed the availability of Cristiano Ronaldo for tonight’s match against Manchester City in the semi-finals of the Champions League.
It was recalled that Cristiano Ronaldo limped off in last week’s 5-1 win over Getafe ,prompting Zidane to say he regrets not giving his talisman some resting time and Realmadrid fearing the worst but Realmadrid medics have moved fast to ensure Ronaldo is fit for the game with coach Zinedine Zidane confirming his availability.
Striker Karim Benzema is also ready after limping out on Saturday afternoon, with Real ready to ‘unleash our weapons in attack’.”I think they are going to be 100 per cent,’ Zidane said. ‘They are fine today. They’re players who look after themselves. My idea is that they are both going to be fit to play”.City are making history with a first ever Champions League appearance. By contrast Real are in their 27th and go in as favourites.”We know what sort of image we project to the world”,Zidane added.”It’s always a proud moment to see us in the semi-final, the last four of such a great tournament. When you’re away from home the most important thing is to keep the goal in tact and get that away goal”.

Zidane is aware of the threat Kevin De Bruyne poses, having watched the Belgian knock Paris Saint-Germain out of the competition earlier this month, but Real clearly have plans to deal with the 24-year-old.”A plan to stop De Bruyne? We’re going to try. We know he’s a good player in form. When he arrived here he showed what a quality player he was. He links very well with Sergio Aguero.Let’s see what happens.City are a great side. If you leave them space they can hurt you. The players get between the lines and cause problems. We need to try and stop that happening”.
