Former Manchester united manager Sir Alex Ferguson has backed Leicester City to win the Premier League title, insisting they’ve been the best team this season.
The former Manchester united manager insists theyy’ve got experience in Huth and Morgan and they work together as a team.“They’ve got the experience of [Robert] Huth and [Wes] Morgan at the back. They know how to head the ball clear, they know how to tackle – they know how to defend.”
League games resumes again this weekend after the international break with both teams gearing up for quite contrasting clashes. While Tottenham can reduce the gap at the top to two points, they travel to Anfield to face a liverpool side who would want to bounce back from their last premier league loss to Southampton, while Leicester City are at home against the same side who inflicted the defeat on Liverpool but Sir Alex thinks Leicester has the edge because of the unity in their squad.
“I can only see Tottenham being the danger to them,” Ferguson added. “At the moment they’re playing some of the best football I’ve seen from any Tottenham team for many, many years. But Leicester have got the edge, they’ve got that togetherness. The consistency has been there all season. Leicester have got the bit between their teeth, they’ve been the best team without question throughout the season and they deserve to win it.”
Arsenal fans wouldn’t be happy to see Sir Alex writing them off though, but one thing is for sure, the remaining games are expected to sure serve some breathtaking encounters to look forward to starting this weekend.
