FOOTBALL: Premier League Weekend Preview

The Premier league is already at a critical stage for teams at the top and at the bottom as teams inbetween just play to test themselves without real pressure, just anticipating the off season to shore up and prepare for the next.

Leicester city already seven points ahead of closest title rivals Tottenham travel to old trafford to face Manchester united while Chelsea weelcome Tottenham at the Bridge. Here are the round up of the weekend games in the EPL.

Everton vs Bournemouth

This game is very vital for Everton if not for anything but for their fans who have been victims of Everton’s epileptic display at the Park. Its crazy how Godisson park which was a fortress have turned an hunting ground for opponents to come and get results, something that has seriously put Roberto Martinez’s job on the line.Fact is Everton needs a response and i feel it is time they got one.Bournemouth were on a good run offrecent but lost 4-1 and 4-0 to Chelsea and Manchester city respectively which shows as much as they can be dogged, they can also get beaten quite comfortably.I expect Everton to go all out at least for Roberto Martinez who’s position right now is very much doubtful, also for their fans who are still recovering from their F.A Cup exit.I expect them to win and ease the pressure on Roberto Martinez.

Newcastle vs Crystal Palace

Newcastle are in a very tough relegation battle while Crystal palace are probably still rejoicing from their qualification to the F.A Cup finals.Newcastle MUST win this to stand any chance of escaping relegation while Crystal palace would probably want to rest some of their star players in order to keep them fresh for the F.A Cup finals.I expect Rafael Bennitez’s side to win this game comfortably to boost their chances of staying in the league.

Stoke city vs Sunderland

Stoke city have been loosing anyhow to teams above them but unfortunately for Sunderland, these are the kind of games Mark Hughes have won this season.Sunderland got a good draw against Arsenal last weekend and will need a repeat of that consistent performance to get anything from this game.I just dont see Stoke city loosing at home. The best Sunderland will get here will be a draw.

Watford vs Aston Villa

Watford is another team that just  needed to stay in the league and they’ve achieved that. Its been tough for them this year because its been tough for Deeney and Ighalo as the pair have failed to repicate their scoring form from last year.Aston villa are s*** and are probably now planning for life in the second-tier of English football.Aston villa needs to bow out with pride while Watford needs to bounce back from their F.A Cup defeat.Aston villa are horrible this season and i expect Watford to continue from where other teams stopped.

West Brom vs West Ham

One thing you can never question about a Tony Pulis side is their defensive discipline and they never get tired even if they do not play beautiful football.West Ham really fancy themselves making the top four and have not lost in their previous games. They might not loose this game but i just dont see them winning.A very tight game, expected to be boring.

Arsenal vs Norwich

What more can i say of Arsenal? The fans are tired, they feel Arsene Wenger needs to go and as far as im concerned, they are not far from right.Arsene Wenger is trying to convince the Arsenal fans a fourth place is good enough but they are fed up of new coaches coming to the league to dominate a Wenger who has been there for years. You always expect an Arsenal to win this kind of games but you can never know what to get from an Arsene Wenger side.I see more woes for Norwich in the relegation battle as i think Arsenal will get the job done in the Emirates.

Swansea vs Liverpool

I feel Swansea are done and dusted for the season as they’ve already survived the relegation battle they were fighting. They got bashed by Leicester city 4-0 last weekend and would be looking to bounce back.Liverpool on the other hand are expected to field a mixed team because of their Europa League game. They threw away a 2-0 first half lead to draw with Newcastle last weekend. Its expected to be a tight game which could go either way as Swansea are done for the season while Liverpool have an eye on the second leg against Villareal in the Europa League.

Manchester United vs Leicester city

This is one of the most vital games of the season as a win for Leicester city cements them the league title while Manchester United wouldn’t want them to win the title at oldtrafford. These are the kind of games LVG thrives on where his team want to act as spoilers and i expect it to be a very tough game for the away side.Manchester united are also on a good run having failed to loose in any of their last six matches as they also chase a top four spot.Leiecster city are dogged and i just fancy them to get a result here, probably not a win but they might just get a draw or even nick it at the end.

Southampton vs Manchester city

This is one hell of a game for Mancity as they need to get a win to keep a hold of the top four at the same time, keep an eye on their game against Realmadrid on the other hand.I just see this game very plain,if Mancity field a second string team, they’ll get beaten. Saints have won four of the last six games and are only a couple of points behind West Ham in the race for sixth and the probable Europa League spot that will come with it.It will be a very tough game, one very hard to call i just feel this is one of those games Mancity will drop points.

Chelsea vs Tottenham

After the desperate disappointment of being held to a 1-1 draw by West Bromwich Albion on Monday, Tottenham face the prospect of their now remote Premier League title hopes being fully extinguished at the home of their London rivals Chelsea. Craig Dawson’s second-half equalizer at White Hart Lane means Tottenham now trail leaders Leicester City by a massive seven points going into the final three games of the season.Tottenham will be missing Dele Alli who was banned for three games.Hazard has said earlier in the week they’d do all they can to help Leicester city win the title by winning Tottenham so i expect a very tough game, difficult to call but i hardly see Tottenham winning at the Bridge.
