FOOTBALL: England Premier League And F.A Cup Weekend Preview

It will definately be another weekend of clashes, in both the Premier league and F.A Cup this weekend as the season gets to a crucial stage.Leicester city has a tough task of winning without top scorer Vardy, Chelsea would be hoping to bounce back from their recent defeats in the EPL while Everton will be hoping to ease the pressure on manager Roberto Martinez by trying to get a vital win against Manchester United in the F.A Cup.Here are the preview of the games.

Manchester City vs Stoke City

Manchester city go into this game buoyed based on recent results after winning four of their last five games most recently an impressive victory against PSG in the Champions League and a 3-0 win against Chelsea at Stamford bridge in their last premier league game.On the other hand, they would want to be cautious because of their Champions league game in midweek.Vincent Kompany is back at the heart of defence and Mangala is playing well right now.Silva was rested in midweek but i expect him to be involved in this game with probably De Bruyne sitting out.Manchester city need to win this game to boost their top four hopes and i do not see anyother thing happening. The best Westbrom can get here is a draw.

Bournemouth vs Chelsea FC

Chelsea has been shabby in the past few weeks probably because they don’t have anything to play for,or because of the confirmation of Antonio Conte’s appointment.Bournemouth though are one team that makes it tough for opponents because of their ability to run all around for ninety minutes.I expect them to trouble Chelsea especially with Joshua King and Benik Afobe’s pace upfront.Chelsea has also been toothless in attack and will hope Diego Costa is in full force in this game. Its hard to see a Chelsea win here, its also hard to see a Bournemouth win.It will be a tough game both teams will score but the scoreline will be close.

Liverpool vs Newcastle

Newcastle were good last weekend with a convincing win over Swansea and a draw against Mancity in midweek while Liverpool have been consistent all month, dispatching teams with relative ease.Rafael Benitez returns to his old side, hoping to get a result to keep Newcastle in the Premier league.Liverpool had a good win against derby rivals Everton but the win was overshadowed by the limping off of Divock Origi who had been a key part of their vital good performances off recent. Its hard to see anyone stopping Liverpool on current form.I see more trouble for Newcastle in their relegation battle.

Aston Villa vs Southampton

Astonvilla were finally relegation last week but would want to bow out with their heads held high while Southampton are playing to get a spot in European football next season.Astonvilla are always awful against any team and i watched Southampton dominate Everton at Godisson park last weekend despite the draw.Expect them to dominate Astonvilla and get a win at Villa Park.

Sunderland vs Arsenal

Arsenal always have it good against Sunderland in recent years while Sunderland are still trying to battle themselves out of relegation water.Arsenal had a good win in midweek after a shabby display over the weekend while Sunderland dispatched relegation rivals Norwich away from home at the weekend and would be hoping to carry on that impressive performance in this game.Expect Sunderland to make it very tough for Arsenal with the likes of Defoe and Borini running the attack on the counter.Kichkoff is providing a good cover for their defence and Arsenal will need a very good performance to beat this team but the inconsistency from this Arsenal’s side make it a tough call.It will be a tough game and expect Sam Allardyce’s side to play till the very last minute to force themselves out of the relegation waters.

Leicester City vs Swansea

Leicester city knows, going into the game that only a win will be required to get a stronghold on the Premier League trophy. All the talk prior to this match has been the suspension of their leading scorer, Jamie Vardy and everyone is anxious to see who replaces him in the starting line up.I feel Vardy will be missed but this is one of the games they can win without him.Swansea on the other hand, went from beating Chelsea last weekend to loosing badly to Newcastle and would be hoping to make it tough for Leicester city.As much as Vardy will be missed, i do not see anything other than a win for the current league leaders,Leicester city in this game.

Tottenham vs West Brom

Tony Pulis’s side are always very dogged and stubborn but it took Arsenal just six minutes to break them down. They would stay dogged, not giving Tottenham any space but then, the Spurs are right now in blistering form and West Brom doesn’t look like a side that can stop their current impressive form.Expect Tottenham to fully dominate this game, led by Harry Kane,Dele Alli and Moussa Dembele from midfield. Is anyone expecting anything other than a Spurs victory here? I do not think so.

Everton vs Manchester United

Everton are in shambles right now in the EPL having won just one of their last twelve games across all competition and their misery was further compounded after they were walloped 4-0 at Anfield in their Mersyside derby against Liverpool which has made fans call for head coach, Roberto Martinez to be sacked. In the FA Cup though, they’ve yet to concede in all their games played so far and would be hoping it continues against Manchester United at Wembley this weekend.Manchester United on the other hand have had some run of form offrecent and would be hoping it continues as Van Gaal would want to win a trophy following rumours he might not be at the helm of affairs next season asides, win a trophy that has eluded Manchester United for more than ten years now.It will sure be a good game as both teams would want to iimpress their fans and be involved in the Finals come May.

Crystal Palace vs Watford

Crystal Palace has won just one game all year and have suffered a run of dismal form while Watford are also playing badly right now and were lucky to win last weekend after their goalkeeper saved two penalties. They both have very good individual players with Crystal Palace hoping Bolasie and Adebayor would be in form to lead the line while Watford always rely on captain Troy Deeney and Nigerian International, Odion Ighalo to get the goals.Expect both teams to apply a cautious approach. This match is very tough to call but would prove each teams mettle as it is been played on a neutral ground so expect the side that turns up to win.
