It was a Champions league semi-finals and obviously the fans were expecting to see a classic game but really,it was all drab.Madrid did themseelves a favour and got the early goal to unsettle Manchester city. They needed to kill the game by scoring a second,as an equalizer from Mancity would’ve knocked them out on the away goals rule but seriously, Mancity were really awful on the night and couldn’t get the ball in time for their forward men to create anything of sort in the game.

Gareth Bale though isn’t fazed as the Welsh man is just glad to qualify for another Champions league final “It doesn’t matter who scores or whether it’s an own goal or not, the main thing is we have a chance to win the Champions League again,’ said Bale. “The reason I came to Real was to win Champions Leagues. I’ve got one already and I have a chance to win another.”I feel like I am maturing. My Spanish is getting better and I’m integrating more with the team. I feel I have turned a corner in that sense and I’m enjoying my football here”.Cristiano Ronaldo though was surprised people doubted his fitness but insisted his side were better over the two legs “People were doubting me but I don’t know why. They forget I recover fast but I am happy and have no problems. I was tired because I hadn’t played for 15 days but I helped the team.It was a tough game but we played better than City. We created more chances in the first half and the second half, we were more intense”.

Joe Hart though played down Realmadrid’s quality and even insists he isn’t bothered by the criticisms “They could not kill it off, we defended well when needed, but we just didn’t have that little bit more.I thought Aguero had a good effort in the 88th minute, but did we do enough to win the game? I don’t know.I don’t think we can be bothered by criticism, it is what it is.We turned up to win this game, we turn up to win every game, but this is gone now and we need to look to Sunday”.

The both teams though have tough games to play this weekend as Realmadrid entertains Valencia at the Santiago Bernabeau while Manchester city welcome Arsenal to the Etihad stadium as they look to bounce back from their Champions league exit.
