Mr Festus Adebayo, a housing expert has urged the Federal Government to de-merge the Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing for effective administration and development and the merger of the three ministries do not augur well for the social and economic development of the country.

The housing expert, a television producer of housing programmes, who spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja yesterday, said that the housing sector deserved to have a ministry to oversee its affairs.

He said, “Abuja Housing Show will like to appeal to President Muhammadu Buhari, since he is working on how to get 10,000 megawatts, for the Minister of Power to concentrate on this and give Nigeria the power that we need”.

He also added that, “The President should please separate the Ministry of Housing from power because housing alone can drive the economy of Nigeria the same way the Federal Government wants to use agriculture”.

He stressed that, “We believed so much in the personality, competence and achievement of Babatunde Fashola before coming to power but he should not be overburdened.’’
