EURO 2016: Schneiderlin Makes France Squad As Diarra Is Ruled Out

Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has made France’s final 23-man squad for the Euros this month after Lassana Diarra was ruled out following the injury he sustained in their friendly against Cameroon.

The midfielder was initially among the players on standby following a makeshift season with Manchester United in which his consistency level had dropped over the past one year and he will be looking to put his inconsistent form behind him and show new Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho why he should be a mainstay in the Manchester United squad next season.

This is France’s third injury woe in one week as defenders Raphael Varane of Real Madrid and Jeremy Matthieu of Barcelona had been ruled out and replaced by Umtiti and Adil Rami last week and coach Didier DEschamps will be hoping the various injuries will not affect his side as they bid to put up a good showing at the Euros which is holding in their hometown this month.
