The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has warned Olisa Metuh, the spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to prove his innocence and stop trying to scuttle his trial by maligning the trial judge, Justice Okon Abang, who is presiding over his case.
Metuh who alongside his company, Destra Investment limited are standing trial on a seven count charge bordering on money laundering has been urged by the anti-graft agency to pay more attention to clear himself rather than playing some tricks.
Metuh claimed that he would not get justice with Justice Abang as the presiding judge owing to the fact that they were once classmates back in law school and their relationship was a frosty one.
Reacting to the allegation, EFCC’s lawyer, Sylvanus Tahir said, “All manner of allegations, as stated by the defendants, were cooked up by them just to stale proceedings.” Tahir was surprised why Metuh was developing cold feet with the trial, stressing that based on the defendant’s allegation of being mates back in school with the judge. the case should swing in his favour.
