Ogun state governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has boasted of the achievements of his state, saying it has attracted over 90 companies.
Speaking at a brief press conference on Tuesday in his Oke Mosan office in Abeokuta ahead of the 2016 edition of the state’s Investors’ Forum, which holds every two years.He said his administration had invested in infrastructural development and created enabling environment for businesses to thrive.
“This is the third edition of the Investors’ Forum. Since we started with the theme: Ogun Opens For Business, about five states have adopted the same theme.I am to tell you that Ogun State is the industrial hub of Nigeria; Currently, we have over 90 industries in the state. More are still on the way”.He said the airport would further fast-track the socio-economic development of the state, since the state had become number one business hub in the country.

He said, “Airport is a necessity and no more a luxury in Ogun State. Ogun State has become the number one industrial hub in Nigeria. So with our pre-eminent position, the airport has become a necessity.All the investors operating here have the wherewithal to travel by air”.
Amosun said his administration would pursue agriculture vigorously, because there was no reason the country should not produce enough food to feed its citizens.He said, “Agriculture is key, we will look into it. A nation should be able to feed its citizens and engage its youths. We will take the advantage of the value-chain in agriculture”.
He said the light rail project was on course as the state had paid its counterpart fund to the Chinese firm handling the project.
