Building Collapse In Ekwulobia, Anambra 3 Dead, 5 Rescued From Debries

A two storey building collapsed yesterday in Ekwulobia of Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State killing three and leaving five rescued from the debris seriously injured.

The building was in the plastering state before the ugly incident happened.

Governor Obiano who visited the collapse building scene sympathized with Ndi Ekwulobia and frowned at the incessant building collapse.

Obiano further charged the State Emergency Management Agency led by Sir Odenigbo to intensify excavation to see if anyone could be saved.

The State Government has on several occasion warned all builders in the state to adhere to the professional standards and make appropriate use of the State Materials Testing Laboratories recently opened at Awka, Nnewi and Onitsha.

The governor while expressing the need of builders to be diligent and professional in their conduct said “there is no short cut to building”.
