Raymond Dokpesi, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, National Chairmanship aspirant, said the postponement of the party’s convention in Port Harcourt is “a blessing in disguise.”
In a statement issued by his Media Aide, Mr. Omor Bazuaye in Abuja, on Saturday, Dokpesi, revealed that the party had planned on imposing Jimi Agbaje as the national chairman.
According to Dokpesi, the governors had gone to lobby delegates from the North, asking that they obey the “micro zoning “ arrangement which he said was unilaterally decided by them.
In his words:
When they brought the message to anoint Agbaje to the people, everybody started screaming that it was Raymond Dokpesi they want to vote for and so the Northern elders ordered them to go to the field.
He added that the postponement of the convention will allow PDP members, resolve leadership crisis in the party.
