Former president of FIFA, João Havelenge, has died, aged 100.
Havelange, who was predecessor to Sepp Blatter and served as the seventh FIFA president, between 1974 and 1998, before his death was also a Brazilian lawyer, businessman, and former athlete.

Upon leaving the office in 1998, he resigned as FIFA’s honorary president in April 2013, following investigations into bribery claims, a yer after that, he was admitted to the hospital with a lung infection.
