Napoli striker and current Serie A leading scorer Gonzalo Higuain has been handed a four-match ban following incidents in Napoli’s 3-1 loss to Udinese over the weekend.
Higuain confronted refree Irrati, pushed him and launched a verbal tirade inches away from the referee’s face. Pulled away, he then had to be restrained by fellow players as he tried to angrily remonstrate with Udinese players.The striker who has scored 30 goals in 31 matches this season was sent off for two bookable offence then lost control and has hereby been banned for games against Hellas Verona,Inter milan, Bologna and As Roma.
This would be a big blow for Napoli who sit in second place,six points behind leaders Juventus and had hopes of pushing their rivals all the way for the Serie A title with few games left.
Napoli coach Sarri,who was also sent to the stands for violent conduct during the game is also set to be banned for one game.
