Tyson Fury just cant get off the scene. He has weighed in to the Anthony Joshua and Charles Martin bout next weekend by playing down Joshua’s ability, saying he is just a body builder.Tyson Fury spared nothing on his thoughts about his fellow Brit in a full rant,
‘Dearly beloved, let us pray for a miracle. The one-punch miracle which is Anthony Joshua’s only hope of salvation when he enters the kingdom of the heavyweight championship ring.
‘For Joshua is useless indeed and his time has come too soon for him to lay hands on one of these cherished belts and hereby banish the American pretender from our blessed land.
Tyson Fury has hit out at Anthony Joshua, saying: ‘Joshua can’t box. No, he doesn’t have a jab.’ Joshua is back in action in just over a week, taking on Charles Martin at The 02 Arena in London.‘Poor Joshua has no defence, is devoid of a jab, bereft of all movement.
‘May the good Lord deliver unto him that one punch which can confound Charles Martin, so that we may harvest the riches of communion with each other.’
Fury, as ever prepared to say what he really thinks, is scathing of young Joshua. ‘Joshua can’t box. No, he doesn’t have a jab. Yes, his movement is terrible and he’s wide open with no idea”
Joshua will be returning to action for the first time since defeating arch-rival Dillian Whyte (R) in December
Fury has not been positive about Joshua’s chances of defeating IBF world champion Martin next Saturday
‘His footwork is hopeless. The only time he’s been hit hard in his professional career, that shot by Dillian Whyte in his last fight, it would have been all over if he had been in there with a big heavyweight who knew how to finish.
‘This game is not all about body-building. It’s about knowing how to box. He’s getting knocked out.’‘When it comes to world championship level, you have to set up the opening for the big punch with your jab. Then you have to be perfectly balanced to land the KO. How’s he going to do that with no jab and his feet all over the place?
‘Martin’s not the greatest but he’s a big southpaw, which makes him awkward to fight, with a heavy punch, which makes him dangerous. He moves well and he’s calm, balanced and patient in the ring.
‘Joshua needs a miracle. I genuinely hope he gets it. Because then he and I can both make a lot of money by boxing each other in a massive championship unification fight at Wembley Stadium. And that would be an easy fight for me.
Fury suspects that his promoter realises it, saying: ‘Eddie Hearn must know that fighting Martin is a massive risk this early in Joshua’s career. You might say that if a world title opportunity comes along you have to grab it.
‘But why take the chance if you really believe in your man and can build him up through a few more fights? I’m beginning to wonder. Do they think he could get knocked out any time so they had better cash out?’
Fury is loved for always saying things the way he sees them but this time, all i smell is mind games. It will definately be a surprise if Joshua doesnt win this bout as he has proveed himself so far in his proffessional bouts with none of his 16 professional bouts going beyond the 7th round and this will definately not be an exception.
