Arsenal have made Calum Chambers available on loan despite their worrying shortage of fit central-defenders.
The England Under-21 international is set to leave the Emirates Stadium on a temporary basis before Wednesday’s transfer deadline.
And Arsene Wenger has decided Chambers needs regular game time to aid his development this season.
However, the Gunners manager is unwilling to let the defender leave on a permanent deal.
Chambers started the first game of the season against Liverpool but lost his place in last weekend’s 0-0 draw at Leicester; Wenger preferring summer signing Rob Holding to play alongside Laurent Koscielny in the heart of his defence.

The 21-year-old is wanted by a host of Premier League clubs: West Bromwich, Hull, Stoke and Sunderland among the sides interested.
A number of Championship and overseas clubs are also monitoring his situation and Chambers, it is understood, is willing to move abroad.
Arsenal would prefer Chambers secure a move to a Premier League club.
