West Ham fans weren’t overjoyed to hear that one of the potentially big money moves that co-owner David Sullivan was talking about on Sky Sports could be for Arsenal forward Theo Walcott. Gooners were though.
With a price tag of around £25 million, Arsenal would be getting more than double what they paid for Walcott when they brought him from Southampton as a 16-year-old in a £12 million move in 2006.
The Sun broke the story a few hours ago and other outlets like the Daily Mail have confirmed that the link is true, that Walcott is ‘ready to quit Arsenal’ for a revolution with the Hammers.
Now 27 years old, it makes sense for Walcott to seek a move after starting only 15 games in the Premier League this season for the Gunners, finishing just two of those. He’s out of favour at the Emirates.

Arsenal fans have been vocal in their criticism of the England international this season. He’s faced accusations of being lightweight, ineffective and inconsistent. However, he’s still managed 85 goals in 337 appearances for the club. Read what West Ham and Arsenal fans think of the transfer story in the tweets below.
Walcott to West Ham? Can’t imagine the size of celebratory rum@arseblog is pouring himself right now.
Walcott to West Ham makes a lot of sense. He’d play a lot, less pressure, they are short on wingers. Surely not worth £25m atm though.
Theo Walcott to West Ham for 25 million…Are West Ham actually serious?? If I was an Arsenal fan I’d drive him there myself.

Take the money and run!
Very clever of #WHU to sell all their season tickets before the link to Walcott was made public. https://twitter.com/skysportsnewshq/status/729788841364697088 …
