When we hear technology, one of the things that comes to our mind is “the impossible”. Technological advancements has made our wishes come true. Lately the idea of wishing something is so much easier because we know it can actually come true, we seen Internets, robots, self-driving cars smart Phones that are smarter than our minds. Technology has literally killed the word “limit”. People can now hope for more. Here are 5 technology ideas that will amaze you in about 4 to 5 years from now.
Big Data, Zettaflood
About 5 exabytes of unique information were created in 2008. That’s 1 billion DVDs. Fast forward three years and we are creating 1.2 zettabytes, with one zettabyte equal to 1,024 exabytes. Cisco chief futurist Dave Evans said “this is the same as every person on Earth tweeting for 100 years, or 125 million years of your favourite one-hour TV show,” . Our love of high-definition video accounts for much of the increase. By Cisco’s count, 91% of Internet data in 2015 will be video.
Cure For Bacteria, Cancer
In life sciences, we’ll have greater understanding of the dynamics of how our microbiome(the tiny organisms, including bacteria) that live in the human body influences multiple systems in our body, including our immune systems, metabolic processes and other areas. The ability to monitor cancer, the dynamic immune system, intestinal flora and pre-diabetes in real-time will change the nature of medicine and usher in a new era of human health where wellness is protected versus illness treated. To cut the long story short, it means we will soon be able to regenerate our cells and be able to cure cancer and other “incurable disease”.
Internet At Every Corner
We are on the verge of the “internet of everywhere”. It will be far more democratic: accessible to everyone, rich and poor. The excitement of the internet of things will be a small footnote in history as the internet of everywhere becomes our reality. Ultra cheap, internet-enabled solar-powered screens that display in HDTV resolution will be on bus stops, in shopping centres, at tables in restaurants.
Waste Water Will Become Assets And Not Liability
Water is one of our most precious resources, yet our infrastructure is failing. Matthew Silver, CEO of Cambrian Innovation said “By 2020 I predict that a new class of distributed systems, powered by advances in our ability to use biotechnology to extract resources, such as energy, from waste, and the dropping cost of industrial automation, will begin to change our approach to managing water globally. Rather than a liability, wastewater will be viewed as an environmental resource, providing energy and clean water to communities and industry, and ushering in a truly sustainable and economical approach to managing our water resources.”
SMART Phones Will be replaced by augmented reality wearables
In the near future, smart phones will fade into digital history as the high-resolution smart contact lens and corresponding in-ear audio plugs communicate with our wearable computers or “smart suits.” The digital world will be displayed directly on our eye in stunning interactive augmented beauty. The Ghent University’s Centre of Microsystems Technology in Belgium has recently developed a spherical curved LCD display that can be embedded in contact lenses. This allows the entire lens to display information.
The bridge to the smart contact starts with smart glasses. Wearable technologies are growing exponentially. New smart augmented glasses like Google Glass, RECON JET, META pro , and Vuzix M100 Smart Glasses are just the beginning. In fact CastAR augmented 3D glasses recently received over a million dollars in funding on Kickstarter. Their goal was only four hundred thousand. The market is ready for smart vision, and tech companies would move away from handheld devices.
