Tottenham midfielder Moussa Dembele has stated his disappointment over his actions in ‘very emotional’ game against Chelsea in the premier league last month.
Dembele was awarded a six match man for his actions but has come out to state the game was very emotional and he will only learn from it. Dembele told Sky Sports News HQ: “It was a very emotional game and you react to things and now I have to learn from this. But my intention was not to do something bad to him. It is not in my character to be so emotional. “I’m disappointed about the six-game ban but I know they want to give a message but I will move on.Hopefully we can keep the passion but do it better. We can be proud of ourselves and take the positives into next season.”
Dembele is in the Belgian squad preparing for the Euros in France next month with his fellow compatriot who scored the comeback goal to dent their title chances Eden Hazard but Dembele insists Eden is a great guy despite everything that played out prior to the game. He added: “We’ve known each other a long time and Eden Hazard is a good guy.”
Prior to their premier league game, Hazard emphasized he would be hoping to dent Tottenham’s title hopes, something Dembele didn’t take lightly saying he would repeat it after the game. All seem to have been resolved though.
